yeah all the G-bodies were different for some reason, yet they all used the same frames. But the way I see it, pulling them from the different cars in the junkyards, cleaning and painting them, and then having a car that will handle better for only a few bucks, can't all that bad!
Keith. top of the shock to top of the shock? Is there room? And what do you think about using a 3 gen Camaro panhard bar set up? think it would be worth it? Think it could be made to work? I know the frame mount just bolts to the frame, so drilling holes and using self tapping bolts would be easy, but the mount on the axle would be a hard one to figure out.

If using the 3rd gen F Body rear, the panhard could be made to work pretty easy. The torque arm would nt be hard either since drags run decoupled torque arms anyways. Worth it? Nope. Not wehn u can by Watts links, Truck Arm kits or aftermarket triangulated four links. For handling on the cheap, I would replace the rear sway bar with a different design more like the Camaro. Scroll down to "SPOHN/SC&C ProTouring Swaybar" scandc.com/spohnarms.htmRoom for the brace? Yep. More room there than making an X-Brace in front of axle. Ideal, but unlikely with exhaust, driveshaft, and floor pans. Rear frame horn brace should be easy and clear the filler neck with ease.

I guess I had better update this. We installed the F-Body 36MM sway bar with new links and bushing, He's had this for well over a year now and I finally had time to install it. And then we replaced the Steering center shaft, Got rid of the old rag joint set up. Now the car stays planted and handles really good in the front! but the rear has a tendancy to come around in the corners. Still need to figure out a live sway bar set up in the rear, next up Transmission! Got the new Crossmember and stainless trans cooler lines in the other day.

That steering shaft looks familiar. I like it.
For the rear, try making 2 brackets to bolt to the frame horns (not the EA shocks) and then weld a bar from bracket to bracket. It will tuck in just under the fuel filler neck and is not noticeable unless you are low to the ground. BIG improvement since the frame's twist has reduced.

LOL!, Yeah, He really likes the way it steers now! And he Thanks you for the upgrade idea.
I have been playing with ideas fo rthe rear like that. I was thinking a bar from the lower bumper shock bolt to the other bolt, Maybe one that crosses under the tank and goes from that small hole in the frame to the other side. I guess we'll have to play with that when I get the car up on stands to get the trans out.

Finished the carpet install this weekend. Mounted the Dash Mat and Did some other electrical repairs as well, fixed the trunk release, wired in the 3rd brake light and installed a new stereo. Waiting on the new front speakers so I can put the doors back together.
Now he wants to have the seats recovered this year. Everything else in the interior has been covered, painted or replaced with custom or factory upgrades. But he has too many ideas and will need to narrow down it to an affordable deal.

Well Cort, since he has changed his mind 4 times in the last 3 weeks, I can only say for sure that they will be blue with some added side bolstering. He can't decide ona stitch pattern, color of the stitch or even the material.
We spent most of today working on the interior,, The door's are now finished, the stereo is complete, the center console is almost secured, but the wiring and the gauges are installed. Still need to have the shift lever modified and a ball socket to attatch it properly. But the rest should be done this week.

Wow ... glad you are so close to being done with the interior! As for the seats ... I suppose the good news is that he has options and is keeping them open...LOL! He's out driving it right now, With the new B-body power booster, he says the brakes work a lot better. All the electrical is working properly and the new interior is a lot quieter and more comfortable. And the new Stereo sounds great!
Cort, He's changed his mind so many times I have lost count. He has 8 months to think about it.

He's only had it out twice due to the weather, But he did say it handles better ad stops better with all the things we did over the winter. Plus he's diggin the new interior.
8 months is when the car goes back into the storage and the seats can go to the upolsterer

Today, I spent a few hours working on Matt's car. He put in some finishing touches to the interior. Because the pillar pieces were dried out and didn't look good painted. So they were covered in headliner material. It gives it an updated look. The new center console is almost completely custom made by Matt. It started out as a console from a W body, then cut in half and fiberglassed to conform to to the dash. The Shifter is out of the W body and the top plate is covered in headliner material and fitted with the Ampmeter and Vacuum gauges All new Door panels, Uppers upgraded to 86-88 versions and the lowers are customs that have the mold for the speakers. Basically the interior is done for now. In the Fall the seats will be pulled and recovered. And I upgraded the rear sway bar. We took the rear sway bar out of a 2001 Olds Bravada and used a set of front link pins from a 2001 Dodge Durango. Very little modifications to make it work. Out with the old... Comparing the old with the new. and then installed. Took it for a test drive and it is like night and day! After installing the front F-body sway bar, the rear would come around if you went to fast around a turn. Now it tracks flat and hugs the curve! Next year, new rims and tires, tubular trailing arms
