The showdown was pretty cool! Congrats to Sam Hornish Jr. for winning his way into the main Event and Jamie McMurry for taking second to get in and Joey Lagano getting the fans vote in.
And How the Hell did Ric Flair get to be the the MC? Wooooo! LOL! He's shot!
Well looks like it's about to start.

Actually it was a really good race last night. The 20 lap intervals was a little confusing, even to Jimmie Johnson, LOL! Gordon won the third leg of the night then on the final 10 lap shoot out, Kyle Busch goes thre wide to move up to 3rd, gets a push from Ryan Newman to 2nd, newman makes it 3 wide with Gordon and Busch, Gordon slide up pushes Busch into newman, Newman tags the wall, then Busch, then Gordon and Gordon goes for a ride! Then after the restart, Tony Stewart out of nowhere takes the 2nd spot from Busch and runs down Kenseth with 2 laps to go and became the next Million Dollar Man!

I was in West Virginia at a funeral. And the home of my Brother-In Law could barely get in the basic channels because of the storms in the area. Kinda funny to hear that Harvick still can prove he can't drive. Too bad about Jeff Burton, though.... In a while, Chet.

LOL! I can't stand either of the shrubs! or Kenseth either for that matter! Hey now, that's a guy from my state there. I've been to his home town a couple of times. However (because of manufacturer and owner), I have at least one Chevy driver from Wisconsin I do pull for, Dexter Bean. I've been past his team shop in Westby many a time, even talked over the phone to Dexter himself once. Talented, just needs a good break. He kinda reminds me of a very young Mark Martin, he has that "style" In a while, Chet.

Been a Waltrip fan since I can remember, even when he was with Roush. Always did well at Daytona and Talladega no matter who he was with. Strange.

(Sorry to you, Keith, and to anyone else I may offend here, but....) Once he landed with DEI, he had decent equipment that could get him in the winners circle. My take was (still is) that he was a decent strategist that kept out of the "big one". Look at Stewart, not a decent strategist, and always in the big wrecks. Jr. is the same as Tony in that regard. Kind of a "go or blow" mindset. Worse yet, after California in '02 when Jr. ate the wall and had that concussion, he has lost any edge he may have ever had. At best, he's left as a top 15 middlin' driver, at worst, a has been with a decent last name. I'd put Mikey in that same boat, sorry to say. In a while, Chet.

Don't be sorry for your opinion. I admit he was better then than now. He has skill or he wouldn't be there at all. But is a Stewart or Gordon or Martin? I think not. Too much bad luck, some brought on by himself, inconsistent, and mistakes ruined what could have been a much better career. But, his time is over anyways. How would you feel after pounding the wall over and over, or flipping so many times? Mentally defeating himself is a strong likelihood. How Mark Martin is able to overcome it, I don't know. But they are athletes and noone will ever change my mind on that. If anyone thinks they are not athletes, then why isn't everyone doing it. Mental and physical abilities abound. Anyone can run around a track or shoot a basketball, but that doesn't mean that we are all good.
So, long story short. I'm not offended. Just disappointed that his career never took off like some of the Superstars of NASCAR.
I like road racing better, anyways. LeMans Series and Touring Cars are great, Australian V8 Supercars and DTM. What else could a person want?

When Waltrip was with DEI he was doing pretty good and He was driving like ole DW. then when he started his own team, I think he took on more than he could handle, Now he's got business things on his mind rather than winning. He has the potential and skill, just not a clear head. IMO
And Chet sorry, Didn't mean to offend you with Kenseth, It's just that I can't stand his attitude. He talks like he's the greatest driver.
Keith, Road racing is fun and the LeManz series is growing on me, And lately, I've been getting into F1 and Indy racing. I give those guys a lot of respect! Racing in the rain has got to be hard and they do it at speeds over 150 MPH!!!

Don't forget the guys on pit road, too. Can u imagine standing on the interstate with cars whizzing by you. The have a lot of trust in those drivers.
Ever watch lawnmower racing? Seems like the Europeans always beat us, though.

Yeah, the pit guys are awesome! They get hit, catch on fire and what not, plus need to be able to swap 4 tires, fill the tank, clear the windshield and make adjustments within 16 seconds, I couldn't do that on my best day! I did a tire challange at a car show once, It took me 13 seconds to swap one tire, Much less swap 1 then spin to the other side and swap another!

That would be fun to try, though. I probably get laughed at pretty hard, but it would b worth it. And u r right. I've seen them burn, get hit, stuck under cars, thrown into the wall, break ankles, smashes into the wall, etc.........Racing Heroes. I'd probably have a heart attack staring at a car running 55MPH right at me. Or have to go change my shorts afterwards!!!!!
