i knw they arent from my era but i grew up on a-team, hogans heros, dirty dozen and a few others like it... i still remember the furby craze... i was just old enough to get into pokemon... then decide it was too young for me a year later.... only to get sucked into the videogaming generation.... i remember when super mario brothers for nintendo looked awesome.... then i look back and compare everything from when i grew up to stuff today and its a night and day difference in almost everything.... only thing thats stayed a constant is the family and friends that i made along the way...

Video Games.... I remember my parents getting us a "game console" in the late 70's that let us play squash, tennis, and practice.... I think it was the APF TV Fun, but basically it was PONG. Then I remember seeing PAC-MAN at the local roller rink. In the early 80's we got a Texas Instruments TI-99 "computer" that we played the "rip-off" versions of Space Invaders, PacMan and others on. I also got so I would write programs on it and store the to audio cassettes (before diskettes and CD-ROMs).
Mid-80's to Late-80's I remember playing "adventure" games on the IBM PC compatible platforms such as dungeons and dragon like adventures that were just word based games. They were fun though. Then came along the King's Quest, and Space Quest, Police Quest, Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards.... LOL, they were some crazy games. They started with King's Quest being a graphically enhanced word-based adventure game. I kind of miss those games now.... they kept you thinking on how to try to solve the puzzles or find all the items, or say the right phrase.
And yes BigMike, family and friends are the ones that stay longer than any of those other things...

Original ATARI, Intellivision, and consoles I remember as well. When Nontendo came out and Mario Bros. was available it was the greatest. My daughter doesnt understand how something that looks so ancient and "blocky" could be so much fun.
I dont actually recall floppy discs coming out. They just were there 1 day.
OK, Jamie, do u remember the Pac-Man cartoon in the 80s?
And "Stop Thief" is prob 1 of the all time greatest board games.

Oh boy! Now were rolling! Atari was the Bomb!!! Space invaders, Defender, Pac Man, Ms Pac man, Super breakout, Missle command...... we were limited to the video games back then, but it was a lot of fun!!! And that cartoon was lame but fun to watch, LOL! never played Stop thief. Played Clue and Monopoly alot

oh and I'm sure you won't take the chance to make us feel old! Right? LOL!
and that's great that you have both of the cars you remember the most! I wish there was a way I could have kept my Dad's 68 Charger! He bought it the day I was born. It wasn't a Chevy, but it was a hot rod. But I still have the factory manual from it, and a set of Slot Mags like he had.
Mike, Sorry, I just can't bring myself to listen to hip hop, LOL!

OK Mike, Rev Run with Aerosmith, did u hear it when it was new? I did and I also remember the Beastie Boys when they started out. Old school stuff I remember because it was intertwined with some rock at the time. But, they have definitely gone different directions.

Back then i was an Oldsmobile guy Even though the car i learned to drive on and took my road test in was my moms 77 monte landau. LOL! Doug, I didn't even know you when we graduated, it wasn't until that Summer a year later, But It's funny that our kids have gone to school for a few years together and graduated together! And yeah, Learing to drive in mom's 76 Impala 4-door was great! That thing was huge! Maybe that's why I can drive just about anything, I guess it's a good thing I tought Matt in my truck!

i just found a cd of music the other day that took me back Ah......isn't it funny how music can take us back ... even to a specific place in time? A number of songs ... the minute I hear them ... I'm taken back to certain times of life. It's kinda cool ... and sad, too. the time goes by so fast, *nods* Indeed it does.....
