We don't care how old or young you may be, but what are some of your childhood memories?
twomanymontes and I remember Grimace and Ronald McDonald and Hamburgler and such. BTW, who was the girl bird? Don't recall her name.
I also remember the early days of Woody Woodpecker. How about Tom and Jerry before they were named Tom and Jerry?
I remember whwn vinyl was popular and 8 tracks were as well. How about the introduction of cassette tapes? Oh, yeah.
Remember the introduction of the VCR? Stupid top loading device that had a corded remote. A corded remote. Who woulda thought.
There was also laser disc and BETA but thats a whole different subject.
When the Monte SS was new in the mid 80s, a friends neighbor had 1 and it sure looked good then as well as now.
Original GI Joe. Yeah, mine had an accident with fire and his Jeep fell apart when it exploded, but they were kicka** toys as a child.
Enough of my memories how about you?

Oh man! Now were going to get interesting!
And Yeah, I remember all that stuff, And it was Birdie, the Early bird! LOL! And I still have three 8 tracks! I guess I'm ancient now!
And yes, Who remembers the Original redline Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars with opening hoods and doors? GI Joe, Tonka Trucks that had no windows, just sharp edges, TV Sitcoms that were cool, but now look soo cheesy..

I remember when TV was entertaining. Unlike today. Saturday mornings from 7am till at least noon were for kids. When I was very young there was Supercar and Fireball XL-5 to watch. Mike Mercury saved the day with Supercar (He even stopped a run-a-way train with Supercar once) I even had an electron version of Supercar before I started school. I wanted it to submerge like Supercar did on TV so I put it in the bath tub with me. Water and battery connections don't mix. I can remember watching the Brady's on friday nights till I got in to high school and it was uncool to watch them. Anyone remember a little known show called The Smiths with Henry Fonda as the dad? He was a cop. I think it was on wednesday nights? Mannix was always a favorite of mine. So was Jim Rockford. In the late 80s, early 1990s I loved watching Jake and the Fatman on TV. It was a good show.

Lol, The Rockford Files. Oh, yeah. I remember the red line Hot Wheels, too. Don't remember Supercar, though. Gilligan's Island used to be Black and White. If u r a couple years older than me, u will remember that since I saw the re-runs.
I had the Tonka Toys, too. Made from STEEL, not plastic. Yeah, I blew them up, too. I was a little destructive back then.
A-Team in the 80s and MacGyver were awesome shows, too.

Doug, don't forget rubik's revenge also.
What about the show Allen Hale [the skipper] and Bob Denver [Gilligan] were in before Gilligan's island? The Far out space nuts, They were loading a rocket with meals and hit the launch button and ended up in outer space, that was a good show

Ahh man.... I'm getting teary-eyed. Dang... I am getting old.
I miss TV shows like, Jake and the Fatman. Hardcastle and McCormick. Knight Rider (the Hoff is the real Knight Rider). Stingray. The Fall Guy. TJ and the Hooker.. er, TJ Hooker. Miami Vice. Riptide (I loved that GMC Jimmy....) Simon & Simon. The Dukes of Hazzard. CHiPs. 21 jump Street. SeaQuest. WKRP in Cincinnati. Three's Company. Happy Days.
Ahh, those were fun, fun, fun. Not full of murder crap like most all of today's shows. I am so SICK of all the CSI, LA Law and genre-like shows out there. Give me something to make me forget the worries of the day and have some fun.... not just depress me more.., ya know !?!
Movies: The Car, Christine, Cujo, Pet Cemetery, The Breakfast Club, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Weekend at Bernie's, Porky's, Revenge of the Nerds, Smokey & the Bandit, Stroker Ace, Stripes, Caddy Shack, .... oh, I could go on....

Man, I have forgotten about so many of those its unreal. Didnt realize my memory had slipped that much. Still dont recall Jake and the Fatman or SeaQuest or Far Out Space Nuts. I guess the few years make a little difference their.
And I watched WKRP a few weeks ago. Man, things have changed. I wouldnt even consider that color TV. Not by todays standards at least.
Smokey and the Bandit is probably 1 of the all time time greatest movies.

I remember them, Stingray was an awesome show! too bad it was dropped after 1 season. Fall Guy was another, Still can't decide which was hotter, that truck or Heather Thomas! oh alright She was LOL! I think that was the first TV show that made trucks cool! Before that they were just work trucks, Like the Dodge power wagon in Simon and Simon. How did the Nerd brother get the cool Camaro? Hardcastle and McCormick was great too, loved the Coyote! But you forgot Hunter! DeeDee McCall's Daytona and of Course DeeDee McCall!
I agree, I guess thats why the main show I watch religiously is the Simpsons, You can't help but loose track of reality for a 1/2 hour every Sunday night, whether it's new or a repeat! I still laugh!
Keith WKRP is a classic! now they should make that into a movie! If they can do Bewitched, why not? And Smokey and the Bandit is in the top 5 best movies of all time! The second one was Ok, but the first ROCKED!!!

Oh and Does anyone remember Movies for a Sunday Afternoon? Monster movie marathons and the cheesy kung fu movies?
What about F-troop? Ok thats going way back!

F-troop? WTF is that?
Man some of those sitcoms were great. Not near as old, but K.I.T.T. was good, too. MacGyver was the best with a close A-team for second.
I just think of anymore right now.
And who knew what the internet was? NOBODY, it didnt exist. I do enjoy it though. Learn lots of stuff that you could never experience without it. Meet lots of people through the use of it, too.
Air shocks and jacked up Novas! Lol, never did like that look.

LOL! F-troop was a comedy sitcom about a cavalry post in the old west, where the sarge and another ran a trading post with the indians. they got into all kinds of trouble, it was quite funny, but like I said, it was years ago! Originally in B&W, but the last season was in color.
MacGyver was great! I watched every show! Who else could make a small pipe bomb out of charcoal, a cardboard tube, some flint and bird crap! LOL!
air shocks! those were the days! LMAO!

No offense, but how about the hayday of windshield banners? I know I still have one somewhere.
Baby Moons. How about when there were only a couple different types of headlights? Big square, big round, small square, or small round ones.

No offense, but how about the hayday of windshield banners? I know I still have one somewhere. Whats that supposed to mean? I like My banner! And the funny thing is, it's been on there so long the tint has faded and if I scrape it, it will still say Chevrolet where it isn't faded. I think Mike has them on his. They add a different look. Plus they are making a comeback with the tuner guys, only they call them Eyelids and they are made of vynal.

Hey, Im stuck in the past a little too because I like the winshield banners. I also like the smooth aluminum wheels which seem to have faded away. Had them on my S-10 back in the day.
Im running out of stuff though. How about brief case cell phones and actual car phones before cell phones became main stream?

like this? LOL! And the Wheels like I have? Centerline style or the old Chrome smooties with the moon hub caps?

That would be the car phone. Ha, ha. Had a girlfriend and her parents had one.
And I am referring to the ones like yours. I like them, but they seem to have died off. Maybe excessive brake heat or just because all the new wheels cam out, I don't know.

I like those eyelids on Mike's car. Always thought they were cool. Was thinking of them for the 75 Maybe... LOL Do they reduce your visible light by alot? And have I always liked, what I called the classic muscle car rims such as the Cragar SS wheels with the knock off spinners, oh, and the Keystone Klassic mags... Centerlines, I always thought they were ready for the drag strip, not the street. I kind of miss my windshield banners. I had one with the Monte Carlo script for awhile. But it was a dark tint one and went on the inside of the windshield. Always a PITA putting them in and cutting around the RV mirror. It looked kind of silly since the windshield had tint at the top already and you couldn't read all of the script well. I also remember in the early 90's having the Oakley window sticker on the back window. Big and neon !! Remember when you could get a CB Radio equipped in your car from the factory, or dealer add on? Remember when CB's and CB lingo were hot?! How about BJ and the Bear (and Stacks !!) ? Or the song ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYS0Epyyu3k or the newly remade one www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuyLTDAC7fE ) and then the subsequent movie Convoy ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLZKvtkVjAw ). I've had a CB in nearly every Monte I've had. And it's funny, the other day my son Samuel was asking why we didn't have a CB in all our cars like they have in the TV shows.... cell phones kid, cell phones. Of course, you can tell he likes to watch the older TV shows and movies (Dukes of Hazzard and Smokey & the Bandit). I've got to get Convoy now. Yeah, I loved the GMC Jimmy in the Riptide show, the Chevy in Fall Guy and the Dodge in Simon & Simon. Those shows made me really start looking at trucks more..... oh and Daisy's CJ Jeep.... or maybe it was just those short shorts... (Who wears short shorts? ) LOL

LOL! Convoy was a great Movie! I remember watching it as a kid and wanting to drive a truck for a living, Bj and The Bear also! But after a 10' drive with a car hauler I decided that was not a job for Me!
Yeah, Daisy's shorts! I mean Jeep! yeah thats it!! LOL!

or maybe it was just those short shorts... (Who wears short shorts? ) LOL musical tone........."She wears short shorts" How about when NASCAR had white letter tires? Or WInston Cup and Busch Series? Or Grand National Series before Busch picked up the sponsorship?

Yeah, Even NHRA was Winston back then. But you need to be PC and No Alcohol or Tobacco in sports that could influence kids.
Funny thing, The local radio station had been running a 10 years in ten days last week and this, it's all about the 90's. Remembering things like Oj getting aquitted, Lorena Bobbit cutting of her husbands thingy.... Some Music Milestones like the the Buffalo band The Goo Goo Dolls getting their first breaks with "SuperStar Car Wash" and "A Boy named Goo" Albums. Marilyn Manson's "Beautiful People" Making the Top 10 lists.....

Why is it that Busch cant sponsor a series, but Miller and Bud and Jack can be on the cars? Seems a little hypocritical. We dont want u in the main view of the series, but since we still want your money, u can keep sponsorship on the cars.

I think it was Anhieser-Busch's idea to pull the plug. They may have been taking flack from Anti Alcohol groups. That might be something to look into?

Bunch of prudes.
Ever see any European TV? We may have too many sensors concentrating on the wrong thing. We could spend their time better for them. Let me raise my own child, I don't need TV raising her for me.
