Reutimann 3rd and Waltrip 17th? Getting better. Maybe he'll crack the top 15 before his career is over. Or was it fual mileage to get up there? I saw a little of the beginning and he was way off pace at the first caution.

Owner/driver Michael Waltrip's tweet coincided with his team's announcement Tuesday that driver Patrick Carpentier would replace Waltrip in the No. 55 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota for the Sprint Cup race June 21 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

"I'm giving my Canadian friend Patrick the keys to the 55 in Sonoma," Waltrip wrote in his twitter message.

In a press release announcing the change, Waltrip said using a road-course expert such as Carpentier gave him a chance to maximize the team's results at the 1.99-mile road course.

"If I see where I can improve my car's performance, then that's exactly what I am going to do," Waltrip said. "I am a good road racer, but Patrick is a great road racer. I love being an owner, and I want to get another win for (sponsor) NAPA. It will feel just as good if I get the victory for NAPA or watching from the pit box with Patrick driving the car."

Carpentier finished 23rd last year in his only Cup start at Infineon. Waltrip has seven top 10s in 19 starts but only one this decade. Carpentier also will drive for MWR and NAPA in the Nationwide Series road course race Aug. 30 in Montreal. Carpentier has finished second there in each of the past two years.

"I couldn't believe it when I was approached with this opportunity — I am honored," Carpentier said. "I really like driving these cars on the road courses. We will work hard and get some good things going at Infineon Raceway."

The arrangement is a one-race deal. Waltrip, who is 32nd in the points standings, will race this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. The No. 55 is also 32nd in owners points. The top 35 cars in owners points are guaranteed spots in the field each week.

About time he stepped out. Id like to see the car do well and attract some talented shoes. I said it before, I want to see more cars up front battling for the win. Not just the same 10 cars.

Win #2! Stewart wins at Daytona: #14-Tony Stewart won the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway for his 2nd win of 2009 and the 35th of his career. #18-Busch passed Stewart coming to the white flag and led through turn 4, but Stewart gave him a bump and tried to pass on the outside, Busch moved up to block and Stewart moved him out of the way, spinning Busch into the wall. Busch was then hit by #9-Kahne and several other cars were collected at the start-finish line. #48-Johnson finished second followed by #11-Hamlin, #99-Edwards, #2-Busch, #47-Ambrose, #83-Vickers, #17-Kenseth, #42-Montoya, and #19-Sadler. There was also a big wreck on lap 77 that involved 13 cars. There were 8 cautions for 30 laps and there were 23 lead changes among 10 drivers.

I missed last weeks race, but got to see the final lap video and Holy Crap! Kyle Busch did a huge NO NO! You can't try and hog the entire track when there are cars faster than you right behind you! He dropped to block then went up but Tony already had advanced enough to make the run, kyle moved up and spun big time into the wall! Then was rear ended by Kasey Kahne! I couldn't believe he waked away from that wreck!

Tony's response was good, "Nobody wants to win like that, and if I did anything wrong, I'm sorry!"
