Today I found this website, and of course couldn't resist signing up.
I'm Hans from The Netherlands and own a 1974 Monte Carlo since 4 years now. But hardly drove a mile since it got here from Texas. Turned into a project car pretty soon after. Progress is kinda slow, because I don't have too much free time usually. Since I bought a 1975 Buick Century about 2.5 years ago the Monte project really slowed down. Having another hobby car, wich takes a lot of your time, money and love, really slows a running project down. Anyway, I still love my Monte and I will finish this car. Come hell or highwater.
Here's my Photobucket link:

Here you can see some progress pics of my Monte. And the other albums, Monte related and one of my 75 Century and Buick 350 engine build. Too many projects ;D
Have already seen some familliar names and cars around here. Most of those I know from the A-Body Showcase Yahoo group. This is where I found my Monte in 2005. It was owner by the founder of this Yahoo group. It's still on his website, second from the bottom:

It is a 1974 Landau by the way. Smallblock 350, console shifter, swivel buckets, original paint was Medium Blue and had a white vinyl cover (back half). No exactly a matching number car. Engine and transmission are not the original ones, has seen about 4 different paint jobs (all different colors), had multiple different interior colors to go with different paints. So seats, headliner and interior panels are not original either. But I don't mind. I like it the way I bought it. It will get some kind of maroon-ish color again.
My Century, wich is a GM sibling of the Monte will pretty much stay the same for now. It's doing okay. It's unrestored and has it's share of a few bad spots (bottom of front fenders and bottom of the doors). But nothing major. It is an original GS (for it was worth in 1975 ). It has the 231 V6. Very durable little engine, but nothing spectacular. Kinda underpowerd for such a heavy car. I'm rebuilding a 1970 Buick 350 engine in my spare time. With some power goodies, ported heads etc. Should be an easy swap and would make some good power.
