It all came down to this! these next 10 races!
Mark Martin starts off with a 10 pts. over Tony Stewart.
And Tony is leading right now.
Could be some good racing from here...

Any chance Waltrip is gonna win it? Nevermind. How about Truex making the Chase next year?

LOL! I'd love to see Truex in the chase! But I think he may need a few more years, Just my opinion.
We'll I had to do some work and missed most of the race, But the "Kid" Mark Martin held off Montoya and Hamlin for the win! I have no idea where Tony Stewart finished, but it wasn't in the top 10! Ryan Newman was 8th I think.
So looks like Martin has a 35 point cushion for now. But Johnson and Hamlin are tied for 2nd and Montoya isn't far behind them

Count Montoya out. Needs a better team (read this as more consistent). Then again, I've not watched racing much this year. I've seen more F1 and LeMans than NASCAR.
I wanted to see Reutimann make it in, though.

I agree, he is a great driver, just doesn't have a great team to back him up.
I only caught a few of the F1 races and one LeMans race. I wish I could see more, but been too busy, heck I missed over half the NASCAR races this year.
Reutimann will! But it will take a few more years experiance and a better team also. I haven't seen him do anything spectacular this year, but did a much better job than last year. And he did win the Coca-Cola 600!

I got to see a good portion of yesterdays race, Some good racing going on.
Felt bad for Richard Petty enterprises, one crash and it took out all 4 of his cars!
Too bad Johnson won, He's ahead of Mark Martin by 12 points rigth now. Hendricks should tell Gordon and Johnson to back off and let Martain take the championship. The guy has only so many years left and those 2 have 7 between them!
Come On NASCAR! Lets see some new faces in the winners circle!

Well, Three races left And Johnson was in the lead. What a shame! LOL! Lap #3 looses it and tears open all 4 corners! Currently they are replacing front left and right suspension and the rear end.
Come On Mark Martin!!!!!

Well, It was a really fun race to watch! Johnson ended up 38th and Mark Martin a solid 4th and triming his point differance from -180 to -73!
UNOFFICIAL Sprint Cup CHASE Standings [after Texas, Chase race 8 of 10; Season race 34 of 36]: pos, car#, driver, points, behind, [wins], race finish 1) #48-Jimmie Johnson [6 wins], 6297, finished 38th 2) #5-Mark Martin [5 wins], 6224, -73, 4th 3) #24-Jeff Gordon [1 win], 6185, -112, 13th 4) #2-Kurt Busch [2 wins], 6126, -171, WON 5) #14-Tony Stewart [4 wins], 6119, -178, 6th 6) #42-Juan Montoya, 6061, -236, 37th 7) #16-Greg Biffle, 6050, -247, 8th 8) #11-Denny Hamlin [3 wins], 5975, -322, 2nd 9) #39-Ryan Newman, 5973, -324, 12th 10) #9-Kasey Kahne [2 wins], 5898, -399, 33rd 11) #99-Carl Edwards, 5857, -440, 39th 12) #83-Brian Vickers [1 win], 5777, -520, 26th
Looking at the stats, with only 2 races to go, looks like Martin has a chance to take the lead, Gordon and Outside chance. The rest maybe too far out to win the Championship.

And now it's over! Jimmie Johnson makes NASCAR history by becoming the first driver to ever win 4 Championships in a row. Mark matin had such a good year and trailed by 78 points at the start of this last race. I was SOOOOO hoping that he would have won.
Oh well another season has come and gone, Now to get into some really grass roots stuff, Like Snowmobile drags, LOL!
