inspired by the thread "well, did you?" and the number of people who weren't happy with the amount they accomplished in 2009, i thought it would be fun to know what everyone's plans are for their projects this year. post your pics, ideas, wish lists, whatever you like.

Well, Lets see, I'd like to finish plumbing the Fuel pump on the SS, get new tires and maybe a MSD unit. On My 01 I want to upgrade the headlights to HID, add some nice pedal covers, get the MONTE CARLO decal on the windshiled and with lots of hope and praying, new rims. On Matt's car, we need to finish the floor repair and install new carpeting, revamp the steering column, and maybe more to the interior, But thats just work for me, he has to pay the $$$ LOL!

my 80 mc is planning on a 4BT swap when i can afford the parts for it.

Has it gotten that bad Ben? or does it just need to be cleaned up? And how can your wife cause you to lose interest? I know Mine takes all my money so I can't always afford what I like, But thats part of being married I guess

its bad. she's been parked outside for 2yrs with the vinyl top off. never got time to finish that conversion. im not allowed to spend any money on it. i control my checkbook. she cant balance hers to save her life so i wind up paying almost all the bills. it sucks. but she's getting a really nasty wakeup call soon.

i've been tossing ideas back and forth, but i'm wondering what makes more sense to have done first- extensive body work or engine/transmission/rear end/etc? input please! also this. hopefully finding it's way to my monte in 2010. courtesy of my oldest brother. it's something dad always wanted to do. and because it's my daily, this will be fixed when i get my income tax check. looks like someone tried to pry the door open. will cost me $500 to repair & respray the quarter and door (i'm not sure if that's pricey but the guy is reputable and that's the most important thing..he may be working on the monte also). BUT i did get a good price on the car so it's worth it IMO.

Ben, trust me, I have the same issue with My wife. After 18 years she still doesn't get it. So All the Wake up calls in the world won't help. Good luck! And the Monte doesn't look all that bad. Of course I Can't be there to see it in persone either.
Jen Ouch! Was it like that when you bought it? And $500. doesn't sound all that bad either.
And installing an older LT1 Motor is fairly a easy swap these days. Just need to be sure you replace the rear main seal, the oil pump and oil pan gasket while it's out.

oh its worse than it looks. i blew the tranny shortly before i parked it, 3rd and 4th are toasted. right now the engine has so much water in the oil from condensation. its almost 2inches above full. it might yet be saveable still. guess alot depends on what happens between us in the next couple of months......

sorry to hear that ben, but there's still hope. this sat for probably the better part of 10 years in dad's yard. a few weekends ago the vines were cut down... amazingly it's only got rust on the a pillar. dropped a battery in and put fresh gas in the carb & it started right up, apparently it idles great. just needs a radiator. i wish i had after pictures. i might need to find some, cause my brother told me all this and i could come up with was "Wtf" ...i was going to keep this car for myself (it was my grandmom's). saw it under the vines and said no thanks i have enough projects. lol i'm kinda disappointed but my brother's best friend has it now and i know he will enjoy it and take care of it.

Moving again Ben? Good Luck! And a 20X30 is kind of small once you get a Monte into it, LOL!
And I'd pass on the BBC, go with the 350, quicker swap and easier on the $$ to get it back on the road

maybe new plans for everyone's summer should include a MCC trip out to ben's to hang out and work on his monte That would be a great idea. But we would end up spending the entire time chatting and no work would get done. BUT, that is an idea also. Maybe we could try to attempt a weekend meet someplace.

that would be alot of fun. i'm also moving, at the end of the summer. going back to PA. so the monte is probably on hold til then. i was thinking of getting the body work done before we move, but i don't know if i should bother. once we move, the monte will be garage kept.

holy crap....wouldnt of even thought there was a car under all that foilage. No kidding! But, from what I can see of the car under all that, it appears to be a nice silver Cutlass..... Ben ... sorry your MC is in that shape right now. I noticed you're moving to Iowa ... whereabouts? And, what is the green car that we see the roof of in one pic? From the chrome around the windshield, I'd guess it's another GM, but what? Jen ... whereabouts in PA are you going? As for me ... no specific plans, except to drive 'em, clean 'em (should wax all 5 of the MCs this summer...), and keep 'em running..... From the chrome around the windshield, I'd guess it's another GM, but what? that roofline is from a 75 MC that was stripped down to just a bare shell. its one my brother wrecked. had floor shifter and swivel bucket seats that i want to put in my dads silver 76 Landau when we finally start on it. iowa. north central. around the spencer area where some of her family is. theres a place there were thinkin about trying to buy with a machinery shed. she's allready agreed to let me have it for my "toys" just gotta check things out in april when we visit and see what it looks like and go from there. id really love a place inside to work on it. maybe id finally get something done.

I thought the roof looked familiar, But was really paying attention, LOL moslty checking out the 88 LS. And Ben that sounds like a good deal, I wish I had a separate building for my cars. Heck with everything I have, I need a small warehouse!
Cort, Yeah, you have your hands full just trying to drive them all! Ever think of taking one of them ona road trip?
Jen where abouts? Moving closer to us NYr's?
And yeah, I'd wait on bodywork until it has a real home to sit in. But maybe get that motor swap done

Cool, Your going to be near Jim Squizz's place in Telford. Probably be out that way a few times this year. Oh and they have a killer Junkyard out there! haven't been there yet, but Donutboy and Myself will be going in March.
