Each year, I do at least one "major" road trip to see places and meet family and friends. I hope to do some "weekend voyages" during 2010, but for now, I'm planning these drives....

With going northeast in 2010, that leaves the northwest section of the continental US to which I have yet to travel. So ... sometime in 2011 ... I will drive through Minnesota, the Dakotas and out west, maybe including Idaho, Washington and Oregon.

I'm starting to look at routes to take for this road trip and should be able to post a possible path for the drive sometime soon.


In doing so, I've read about US Route 6 [another route I want to travel the length of ... "someday"] in Pennsylvania. If I have time, I'm thinking of taking one of 3 routes to "touch" US Route 6 across PA from Ohio to Binghamton NY...

After traveling Route 66 (September 2009), I really want to travel other routes, including US Route 6, US Route 20 (which cuts right through my home town), the Lincoln Highway, and others. Heck, I'd love to drive Route 66 again.... But, not enough vacation time right now...dangumit.

** JUNE 25-27, 2010 ... to RICHMOND IN **

I'll leave Thursday evening, June 24, or early Friday morning, June 25 ... to be in Richmond IN by late afternoon/early evening Friday, June 25.


To avoid the major road construction projects on most of the Chicagoland "expressways", I'll take one of these routes:

IL RT 47 S to SR 24 E to I-65 S, then around Indianapolis to I-70 E
...OR...
IL RT 47 S (or I-39 S) to I-74 E into Indianapolis, then around Indianapolis to I-70 E.


I'll be in Richmond IN from Friday afternoon/evening until after lunch on Sunday, returning home Sunday afternoon/evening....


If anyone is interested in meeting up along the way or convoying back'n'forth to the MC Nationals, let me know....

** NOR'EASTER TREK, AUGUST 2010 **

I have an opportunity to travel Route 66 (Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California) again this year ... and I may take it. If I do, this August trip would be canceled.

HOWEVER ... right NOW ... I'm STILL geared up to travel to Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania ... so, if you are planning to meet up along my road trip path, let me know ... and DO NOT change your plans!!!

But ... I'm baaaacckkk!! My Nor'Easter Trek road trip was AWESOME ... met up with great people along the way and had a blast. I just don't want to be back home.... Pictures will be posted soon....


Now ... time to plan my 2011 road trip via Route 66 and into the northwest United States.... And, I'm thinking about a mini road trip in mid September and a mini road trip to TN during Thanksgiving weekend....

No worries about Ohio, Just glad you made it home safe, You sounded really tired on the phone that Saturday.

And In rare Form? Yeah You were! I have to post that pic! LMAO!!! But It was fn That Saturday night hanging out till past Midnight! So now you know what it's like to hang out with Tim and I in person, Sorry we couldn't find a junkyard, But If you ever make it up this way again, we'll plan ahead.

I was tired that Saturday. But, I think it was more disappointment in the trip being over ... and not wanting to go home ... but just wanting to GET home ... if that makes any sense....lol.
