ok so i fianlly realized how bad the rust is and it needs to be replaced... now heres the problem... the shop who has my car isnt a frame resto shop.... they can do the work but they need a good frame section in order to do it so should i look for a good rear frame??? or should i get it to a frame shop that is in my area???
i know a few guys who needed to fix the frame (behind the rear wheels) and im asking those guys if they needed to take the body off the frame??? would it be able to be done with leaving the body on the frame??? i really want my car back but if this ends up costing me an arma nd a leg i may end up selling my car cuz with a kkid on the way i need to save all the money i can.... any responses or pm's would be appreciated....

Mike, I have replaced fame sections inthe past, If you can find a decent set of frame rails from any G-body 2 door, cut them about 4 inches longer than needed. I used to cut slots into the end, folded it inward and insert them into the removed section. Bolt the frame bushing in place to hold it in place and then weld the two sections together. grind the welds flush and spray under coating. Looks great
good luck!

Hey Mike, As I mentioned to you the other day, my '79 MC Landau needed the rear portion of the frame re-done ... and I found a welding shop that simply welded it together for me. Stronger than factory..... Good luck Mike! Good frame sections are hard to find here these days. Although, If I ever did have my frame Rot out, I think I'd get a Chris Alston's Chasis works back half and tub the car. I always liked the pro street look.
