camaromustangchallenge.com/What do u think? May seriously look into building a car for this. Too bad it would have to be a Camaro. Montes can run in PT and TT along with AI. AI is big bucks. PT is more doable, but CMC is entry level. Looks like lots of fun. Have another friend building a GTA for PT.

Looks pretty cool! But the F-body cars just never apealed to me. I didn't read the whole set of rules, but I didn't see any class a Monte could run. I wish there was a bluegrass, type racing where you could run a 5th or 6th gen Monte in a stock to slightly modified form.
After watching the Super V8s in Austrailia, I have been thinking of putting a front splitter and a wing on the 01. Of course, lowering it and getting some cooler rims first, but I think I have an idea that would make the car pretty sweet!

Montes can run in PT and TT and AI. But CMC is entry level low budget (if u can call it that). So its a starting point. I don't care much for F-Bodies but struggle to bring myself driving a Ford. That, and all my knowledge is Chevy. So its kind of a no brainer. I plan on keeping all the go fast goodies on the Monte and put them to the side. Hope to find a decent roller and a few years from now I can run the Monte on the track. Its gonna take a year to get the competition license anyways. Didn't expect that part.

Plans. 3rd Gen Camaro/Firebird Cage, brakes, suspension, gut interior (retain stock dash per rules), build spec engine, lighten, paint and make it look good per the 50/50 rule (look good from 50 feet at 50MPH), better cooling, serp system no A/C, remove wipers and heater/AC box. Sample of cage. Prob start with this car. End up with something like this.

Canadian? Oh, yeah. Think IROC Series in the 80s Camaros, but with different teams setting them up and running. Had Firebirds, too. Ron Fellows had run in it back in the day. Factory race cars (1LE cars) with cages and subframe connectors.

16 with parental consent or 18 on his own. I say go for it. Gonna try to get my daughter into it later this year. Of course it has to be with an instructor. But can't be before July due to age requirements. It can only help with driving skills.
