I managed to catch a replay of the final race for 2010 in the Super V8 series over in Austrailia. These guys are friggen cool!! The cars are pretty sweet for 4 door rides and they are not afraid to trade paint. I can't wait to see what I can in the 2011 season! Some really cool stuff on this site too: www.v8supercars.com.au/

Yeah like you'd answer the phone at 1 AM? LOL! It was one of those nights that I couldn't sleep and found it while channel surfing. The fun part was in the secod last race, the three top contenders for the title all wrecked in the same place, one right after the other. It was more of a race to see who got out of the pits first. One guy was driving with major negative camber on both front tires, how he hung onto that car was beyond me!
Now. I'm trying to figure out how much it would be to have a Holden Commadore shipped here.LOL! That would be awesome to drive around here. My brother in law is from Australia and his family is big into racing over there. He has a 70's Ford Falcon in pieces that he's thinking about having it shipped over here piece by piece for us to assemble.

1AM? Probably would have answered. Having that shipped over for assembly would be pretty sweet if u had the room, but would u leave the right hand drive?

I don't have the room, but My brother in law does! He just had a pole barn put up on his property, 80'X60', Can put atleast a 1/2 dozen cars in there plus the tractors and snowmobiles.
And of course it would be right hand drive! Hell, I'd even attempt to drive on the left side of the road too, LMAO!!

80x60? Nice. Sure beats my 2 car garage on a Cul-De-Sac and hill. I cant push a car up my driveway. Didnt think about that when I bought the house. If it doesnt run, it stays in the garage until it does run.

Yeah Mine too! 2 car garage and I can't fit everything in it, LOL! My driveway is pretty flat, But then again, I have had to push a few dead cars into the garage

Race Reults from Abu Dhabi.
Whincup Wins Opening Race of 2011
TeamVodafone’s Jamie Whincup has continued his overseas winning streak by scoring an emphatic win in Race 1 of the Yas V8 400.
In his 100th championship event start, Whincup crossed the finish line 13.2 seconds ahead of Alex Davison (Irwin Racing) and Mark Winterbottom (Ford Performance Racing).
The 28 year-old former champion remains the only driver to win an overseas V8 Supercar race since Garth Tander at Hamilton, New Zealand in 2008.
Pole sitter Craig Lowndes stalled on the start line and dropped several spots, allowing Alex Davison to take the temporary race lead.
It was short lived however, with Whincup overtaking the #4 Irwin Racing Falcon before the end of the opening lap.
Winterbottom and Davison diced for second place throughout the race. In the end, a slower second pit stop for Winterbottom proved costly, and handed Davison second spot.
Davison’s runner-up finish is his second podium of his V8 Supercar career.
His Stone Brothers Racing teammates Shane Van Gisbergen (SP Tools Racing), Tim Slade (Lucky 7 Racing) rounded out the top five.
Toll Holden Racing Team’s Garth Tander recovered from his 14th placed starting spot to finish 6th ahead of Lowndes, Fabian Coulthard (Bundaberg Rum Racing), Lee Holdsworth (Fujitsu Racing) and Todd Kelly (Jack Daniel’s Racing).
It was a tough day for reigning champion James Courtney, who was forced to pit to repair the damaged steering on his #1 Commodore after contact with Jason Bargwanna on the opening laps.
Courtney Gets First Race Win with Toll HRT
Reigning V8 Supercar champion James Courtney has won Race 2 of the Yas V8 400 – his first race win with his new Toll Holden Racing Team.
The win is Courtney’s ninth career race win, but he was clearly elated to get his first race win with his new team.
“It is an awesome feeling,” said Courtney.
“After all the hype in the off season all I wanted to do was just get in the car and drive. I can’t thank the guys in the team enough … we stuck together and our strategy was amazing.”
“I’m surprised we made it to the end. I was conserving so much fuel which allowed Brighty to close in on me but then the boys said I had a bit to play with so I just kept pushing!”
“This is amazing. I’m stoked!”
The last 10 laps was a nail-biting duel between Courtney and Team BOC’s Jason Bright as they diced for track position, while also trying to save fuel to make it to the finish.
Bright finished just 6 tenths behind Courtney, with pole sitter Jamie Whincup in third.
“I thought we had James,” admitted Bright.
“I had to do a fair bit to catch him, and then when I got in front I didn’t have the drive left to keep him at bay.”
The race was marred by an incident on the opening lap when Tony D’Alberto (Wilson Security Racing) made heavy contact with Garth Tander (Toll Holden Racing Team) and Tim Slade (Lucky 7 Racing). All three cars sustained heavy damage and did not finish the race.
David Reynolds (Stratco Racing) scored his best race result, finishing fourth. Michael Caruso (Fujitsu Racing), Jonathon Webb (Mother Energy Racing), Alex Davison (Irwin Racing), Shane van Gisbergen (SP Tools Racing), Greg Murphy (Pepsi Max Crew) and Paul Dumbrell (Bottle-O Racing) rounded out the top ten.
Jamie Whincup leads the championship on 279 points from Alex Davison (234) and Shane van Gisbergen (210).
However Whincup is at the centre of two incidents that under investigation; his contact on Jason Bargwanna and crossing the blend line at pit exit after pit exit opened for start.

Team Vodafone’s Jamie Whincup has won the first race of the Albert Park 400 – the first V8 supercar race win of his career at Melbourne’s Grand Prix circuit.
Capitalising on his front row start and a strong early run on his soft tyres, Whincup was relatively unchallenged from the race start and maintained a handy buffer of between ten to twenty seconds throughout the race.
“I’ve been coming here for many years but I’ve never been able to snag a win until today,” said Whincup after the race.
“We had a good strategy which gave us track position. I owe it to the guys in the garage …starting on soft tyres I was able to clear out in the first half of the race.
“We may not be as luck tomorrow, so we might have to change our strategy up before the next race!”
Toll Holden Racing Team’s Garth Tander finished second, ahead of SP Tools Racing’s Shane van Gisbergen in third.
Tander was perhaps the man of the match. Starting from 14th, he made up a huge amount of ground in the first half of the race on hard tyres, and was able to rejoin after his pit stop in second place.
In the first half of the 25-lap race Stone Brothers Racing teammates Alex Davison and Tim Slade (both on soft tyres) battled in earnest for second place.
Slade’s charge came to an end during his pit stop, when his crew struggled with a cross-threaded wheel nut on his front right tyre. He eventually finished 23rd.
Alex Davison held off a hard-charging RickKelly to finish fourth.
Lee Holdsworth (Fujitsu Racing) finished sixth, with Jason Richards (Team BOC), Mark Winterbottom (Ford Performance Racing), Jonathon Webb (Mother Energy Racing Team) and Jason Bright (Team BOC) rounding out the top ten.
Pole sitter Craig Lowndes’ run ended on lap four, when contact with van Gisbergen damaged the front end of his #888 Commodore. He rejoined the race on the soft tyre and promptly set a new race lap record, signaling he will have the pace to fight from the rear of the grid tomorrow.
The finishing order of Race 1 determines the grid for Race 2 tomorrow (Saturday).
Despite Whincup’s race win he trails van Gisbergen by 18 points for the Albert Park 400 crown, due to van Gisbergen’s points from fastest in qualifying.
The winner of the Albert Park 400 will be the driver with the highest number of points across the three races.
