Well With 6 laps to go he did it! Pruett passed Max Angelelli and kept his foot into it till the end. 2 in a row! Some really good tight racing for such a short race. Too bad they run BMW powered Rielys, I think a Chevy Powered one would be better. LOL!
And the Camaros in the GT class looked better than they did in the Daytona race. Must have found some handling improvements.
Turner Motorsports took the GT class with the BMW M3

Couple bump and runs, few passes and Memo Rojas got a drive thru penalty. Couple cars spun out and crashed, then Pruett runs it till the end. That pretty much summed it up. www.grand-am.com/ has a play by play if you really need it. Next up Barber Motor sports park in April!

Last week Grand Am posted a $25,000 reward to anyone who can beat the Ginassi gang. This week Pruett finished second by less than a car's length to Terry Borcheller, JC France and Joao Barbosa, in the No. 9 Action Express Porsche/Riley. First win for a Porsche since the 2010 24 hrs of Daytona. Pruett didn't give up without a fight, though, closing up to Barbosa's rear wing on the final lap of the competitive race. It marked only the third time in 15 races since the 2010 Rolex 24 that Pruett and Memo Rojas failed to win in the No. 01 TELMEX BMW/Riley.

Saw bits and pieces of todays race at Lime Rock. Rojas didn't do too well, ended up busting up the front end, Pruett got the car up to finish 7th somehow. Was nice to see Max Angelli take the win in a Chevy powered Dilara. And in the GT class the new Camaros took 1st & 2nd. Didn't see that coming!
Next week Sahlen's Six at the Glenn and I will be there!!
Keith Better charge up your phone! You know I'll be texting you the cool things I see! LOL!

Oh man!! What a race!!! Keith, Sorry if phone burned out from the texts, My Battery died shortly after 9PM LOL!
Started out as a nice 2.5 hour ride into the heart of NY. Between the trees a huge grandstand appeared and then the fun began! We were allover that track or so we thought! After looking at the track layout, we didn't see a third of the place. We did manage to hit all the accessable grandstands, the pits, the garage area, the haullers paddock and nearly every place in between. But there was the "boot" area that had campers and we couldn't figure out how to get there. Right from the start of Gentlemen start your engines, it started to rain! After an hour and a half of downpour, it let up some and was just a sprinke here and there till about 3 PM. Then the sun made it's way out and dried up the place. The wind was chilly and of course damp. But the race was well worth watching! Ricky Taylor took the win in the Daytona Prototype for the Suntrust team and Andrew Davis won in GT for Brumos Racing.
On the way home, we stopped at a great little place for dinner, then proceded to blow a brake line and run into 2 deer! miles out of Watkins Glenn, I see 4 deer in the road, I hit the brakes, but it went to the floor. I didn't have a choice but to aim for the gap between 2 of the deer and hope for the best. I saw one smack it's head and blow out the left headlight. My brother in law said I clipped the hind quarter of the other deer. So glad he was in the truck! It was his truck and I would have hated to explain what happened!. After 35 Miles of driving with no brakes, I found a WalMart, and we bought fluid and a pair of pliers. I crimped the line and fille the fluid. Enough of a pedal to make it home just after Midnight last night.
Whata day and I can't wait till next year! Already have an order in for next years race!!!

Sounds like so much fun. Glad u made it home...OK. I have blown a brake line before and experienced it and I have also smacked a deer that tore up the 82 Monte pretty good. Glad u guys are OK and it wasn't worse than what it was.

Final race tomorrow at 3PM live from Mid Ohio! I can't wait!!!
Two very different championship scenarios will be in play at this weekend's GRAND-AM Rolex Series season-ending EMCO Gears Classic presented by KeyBank. While the Daytona Prototype title could be decided 30 minutes into the event, the GT dogfight has eight driver combinations in the running for the championship.
Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas are closing in on their second consecutive DP championship and third in four seasons. They can both clinch the championship if one of them completes the minimum 30 minutes driving time needed to score points in the No. 01 TELMEX BMW/Riley. However, if they fail to complete the required 30 minutes, Ricky Taylor and Max Angelelli would win the title by meeting the minimum time requirement. Taylor and Angelelli enter the event 20 points behind the Ganassi duo, 353-333.
It would be the fourth DP title for Pruett, who co-drove with Max Papis in 2004, Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates' first season racing in the Rolex Series. Rojas shared the championship with Pruett in 2008 and 2010.
Ganassi Racing is on the cusp of winning its fifth Daytona Prototype team championship. In addition to 2004, 2008 and 2010, Ganassi captured the 2006 DP team title.
The DP engine manufacturer's title will go right down to the wire. Chevrolet took the lead with GAINSCO's victory in the recent event at Montreal, and leads BMW by two points, 355-353.
Get out the calculator to figure out the GT battle.
Three teams are within five points of the lead, with another five teams in striking distance entering the finale. GT has had seven different winners and five changes atop the points standings this season.
The drivers leading the GT standings could achieve GRAND-AM milestones by winning the championship.
Bill Lester and Jordan Taylor (No. 88 Autohaus Motorsports Camaro) lead with 294 points. Lester is in position to become this country's first African-American champion in a major auto racing series. He recorded a milestone earlier this year when he and Taylor won at Virginia International Raceway, making Lester GRAND-AM's first African-American winner.
Taylor is also looking to set a milestone by becoming GRAND-AM's youngest champion at 20 years, four months and seven days. Jamie Holtom won the 2008 CTSCC ST title at the age of 21 years, four days.
Three points back are Leh Keen and Andrew Davis, who have won two races this season in the No. 59 Brumos Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. After eight years in the Daytona Prototype class, Brumos Racing moved to the GT class – where the Jacksonville, Fla.-based team has its historic roots.
Jonathan Bomarito and Sylvain Tremblay (No. 70 Mazda Speed/Castrol Edge Mazda RX-8) finished second in the recent Montreal 200 to close to within five points of the lead with 289 points. They won in July at New Jersey Motorsports Park. SpeedSource won the 2010 Rolex Series GT title, with Emil Assentato and Jeff Segal (No. 69 FXDD Mazda RX-8) edging teammate Tremblay by five points.
Two-time winner Paul Dalla Lana (No. 94 Turner Motorsport BMW M3) is fourth with 279 points. Dalla Lana won earlier this year at Homestead-Miami Speedway and Barber Motorsports Park, co-driving with Bill Auberlen.
Also in contention entering the finale are early season leaders Craig Stanton and John Potter (No. 44 Magnus Racing Porsche GT3), fifth with 277 points; James Gue and Dane Cameron (No. 41 Dempsey Racing Mazda RX-8), sixth with 276 points; defending champions Assentato and Segal, seventh with 270 points; and Wayne Nonnamaker (No. 42 Team Sahlen Mazda RX-8) eighth with 265 points
