Any changes to your "automotive family" soon?

Anyone else have thoughts of changing up the automotive family?


For a while, I've wanted to add the following vehicles to my car family:
1975 Caprice Classic convertible
1977 Caprice Classic sedan
1978 Caprice Classic coupe
1989 Caprice Classic 9C1
1987 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe


But, now ... the only vehicle I want to add to my family is a 1989 Caprice Classic (sedan or 9C1), to be the "summer" daily driver to my "winter warrior" 1979 Caprice Classic sedan.

Along with that, I've decided that, if the "right" '1989 CC (good shape, FI, cruise control, A/C, power, road trip worthy, etc.) comes along, I'll probably sell my 1972 MC. Why? Because my '72 MC is the only "expendable" MC I own ... the '76 is the year my parents had; the '79 is my first car; the '81 was my parents' car; and the '87 has sentimental reasons for the year....


But, even that plan could change, if my next checkup indicates I need more surgery ...and/or... I buy my own house....



In the meantime, my newest cars will have to do ... ~50 of them. I bought 80 cars, ~30 of which I bought for my nephew, who is learning what each car is VERY quickly!

Cort, I tend to keep everything until there ready for the junkyard. LOL! I have owned well over 25 cars from all different manufacturers. No Fords Thank God! LOL! I only seem to add to the collection. I would really love to add a 60's era Biscayne/Impala/Caprice to the collection. But Thats probably not going to happen for a while. No room, no money, You get the Idea.

Only change I would like to make is get rid of the Durango and find a decent Yukon/Tahoe or maybe even a pickup. Chevy of course.

pretty big changes for me. no longer have the 2003 Silhouette and sold the 2000 grand am (did i even tell you guys i had that?)

still have the Lebaron but that needs an engine transplant going to put in the turbo 2.2 or 2.5 intercooled to replace the 3.0L mitsu and replace the glass 4 speed auto with a heavy dudty 3 speed auto

also to replace the Grand am i bought a 1997 Grand Marquis with police bits. the heavy duty shocks, springs, 3.27 limited slip, dual exhuast, 215hp 4.6L. then i gutted the stock air box and make a better intake tube out of PVC pipe and removed the mufflers the 4 cats keep it quiet enough to be barely legal but screams when you get on it




and the vans replacement a 2000 Grand Prix GTP witht eh supercharged 3800. fully loaded with leather, heated seats, sunroof, bose, HUD, digital IC, automatic climate control, performance shift, power driver seat with lumbar. only thing it's missing is the 10 disc CD changer

Cool, But why did you pull the cats off the Marquis? Don't they check for Emissions in Michigan? And the GTP is looking good. Well, except for the rust on the gas tank door, LOL!

LOL, Dave. I may be wrong, but I think he kept the 4 cats and they keep it quiet enough.

I dig the GTPs, too. For a FWD car that is.

yes it still has the 4 cats. the mufflers on the other hand are gone lol

i did put some glasspacks on though. at low RPM and heavy load it sound really bad. the glasspacks smoothed out the noise

and yes the gas cap door and the rocker panles are rusted but the rest of the car is not bad. just neglected

Ahh, I guess I read it too fast. That makes more sense.

Search the yards, good gas doors are everywhere!

I would LOVE to have the 9C1 package on my 1989 CC, if/when I obtain one.

But, I can't exactly justify the expense of a new car ... especially given some additional health issues, possibly more surgery, and/or purchasing a house....

Cort, I'd have to see that Color in person, I'm not a big fan of orange. I do like the new Charger, and seeing as I have only seen it in red, silver and black so far, Maybe the orange will look good.
