Man what a race!!!! The sights of these cars running through the streets on Monaco and under the Monte Carlo Hotel was just too cool for words! Nice to see a different winner again.

Formula One test driver Maria de Villota lost her right eye in a crash during a testing session and remains hospitalized in Britain, with teammates describing her condition as critical but stable.
The 32-year-old Spaniard sustained serious injuries to her head and face after colliding with a team vehicle at the end of one of her straight-line test runs at Duxford Airfield in Cambridgeshire, north of London. She underwent a lengthy procedure by neurological and plastic surgery teams, her team said, adding that de Villota was in the operating theater from Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday morning. ''We are grateful for the medical attention that Maria has been receiving,'' John Booth, Marussia team principal. ''However, it is with great sadness that I must report that, due to the injuries she sustained, Maria has lost her right eye.'' De Villota was testing the team's racing car for the first time Tuesday after joining Marussia in March. She is the sport's first full-time female driver since Italy's Giovanna Amati raced with the Brabham team in 1992. She was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital after the accident with what an emergency team's spokesman described as life-threatening injuries. Her head apparently took much of the impact from the collision with the Marussia team truck, which was used to transport the racing car to the airfield for a week of testing ahead of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone Sunday. It was still unclear why the car suddenly accelerated, and hit the truck as De Villota slowed down at the end of the run. Booth said the investigation of the accident is ongoing. ''We have embarked on a very comprehensive analysis of what happened,'' Booth said. Marussia F1, formerly known as Virgin Racing, is yet to score a point in this season's Formula One championship.

Woah. That's bad! Slowing down and the car sped up and hit the hauler? Something ain't right and I hope they get everything sorted out. Unfortunately, he career is probably over. Peripheral vision is a necessity.

Just caught the British Grand Prix from Silverstone. Boring race until the last 5 laps! Alonzo had lead the entire race till then. Webber came from nowhere and made a clean pass. Alonzo couldn't keep up after that. Vettle finished 3rd I think. Schumaker was having problems in the start, but ran up to a top 5 at the end.

Missed quite a few races, but caught last Sunday's race. Really lots f close wheel to wheel racing! Including the first turn on the first lap! Grosjeane goes wide into Hamilton, breaking his front suspension and then sending both of them into the points leading Alonzo. Taking all 3 of them out of the race right at the start! Only a few points separate the top 5 drivers!

Haven't seen any of the F1 stuff this year. But I try to watch as much GrandAm as possible. It's usually on at a better time of day.

Last race was Sunday!!! And Vettel could do no wrong! Even being spun on the first lap and ending up in the 19th position, he still managed to fight his way back up to the 6th spot and maintain the points lead over race runner up Fernado Alonso. Vettel takes the Championship for the 3rd year in a row!!
The first one he worked hard, the second, he just dominated and now the third, he clearly just out raced the competition.
With all the driver change ups for next year, it will be hard to predict who the best teams will be.

Can't wait til next season. Everything getting changed up in a bunch of different series. I like it when you see one manufacturer leading the pack and in a couple years its someone different. Keeps it all interesting. Obviously the car is a big deal and the team because Schumcaher hasn't gotten it done since the Ferrari days.

Yes, Schumacher really wasn't doing what was expected. He is a legend in F1, but just couldn't bring it these last few years.
Next season is going to be great!!!
