We became the proud owners of a 2003 Pace car on may 10, 2008. Another member of Monte Carlo Forum (Spaceman) did my research for me and located the car at a Pontiac dealer in Greenville, OH. My dad and I went looking at cars for a few weeks. Space did a net search for me locating several Montes we went and looked at. Orignally I passed on this car. But my g/f wanted to see it in person. She fell in love with the car and we bought it. The bank said it was a great deal on the car. $10,900 with 65,000 miles on the clock. So they floated a loan on it. This car is SSuper to drive. Right now it has 70,245 miles on it. Most of the miles are trips to Michigan and back home. I love how this car handles. Finding the original owner of the car was easy. I contacted them about the car and any information they could add. It took some major work but I finally tracked down the company that originally printed the Certificate of Authenticity for the Pace cars, and signature series cars. A very nice woman found out our car is #476 of the 1,401 Pace car produced in 2003. I was even lucky to find two different people who were sent duplicate C of As for their Pace cars. They sold me the duplicates for $10. So at least we have one. Future plans for the car are to purchase the missing Pace car decals and install them. Another member of MCF showed me the accessories he purchased for his Tony Stewart Monte at pfyc.com. I'm very interested in the truck lid cover for the Pace car pfyc sells. I think the Pace car looks great setting next to my '06 LTZ Monte. So now we own 4 Monte Carlos. ;D

2MM, that happens when you leave one Chevy parked next to another in a dark closed up barn !! You have to be REAL careful with those 'woody' wagons. You'll end up with a bunch of baby splinters ripping their tires around town !! LOL
Those are sweet looking '57's RJ. and I love that blue pace car. Seems your driveway must be pretty full too, eh? Good thing you have that nice barn.

Thanks for the kind words about our Pace car. I know I mentioned this already but this car handles great.
We've got 4 Montes. Not as impressive a collection as Cort has but: 1981 SC Monte 1986 LS Monte 2003 Pace car. 2006 LTZ Monte.
I can post a few pics if anyone's interested?
hey where did they all come from? I only remember the white one with Flames!
Dave, The first blue '57 is my very first car. Got it when I was 14 years old in july, 1972. In july, 2008 we celebrated 36 years together. My parents paid $150 for the car which is my high school graduation present from my parents that I got 4 years before graduation.
The other 4 in the photo are: White Wagon w/flames I bought in 1988 as a B-day present to myself from a long time friend, Steve. He bought the Wagon in 1980 from a guy in a small town west of here. I ran in to this previous owner in about 1995 who asked where I got the Wagon from? He was nice enough to give me a photo of the Wagon in 1974 setting in his parents driveway.
Next '57 is my other BelAir 2-door Hardtop. Bought it from a guy I went to high school with in january, 1980 for $150. I tried to buy the car in 1972 but the THEN owner wouldn't part with it.
Next '57 is my 4-door Sedan. Bought it in august, 1975 from the original owner's estate. She ordered the car in june, 1957 and took delivery in july. She had a stroke in march, 1975 and passed away. I paid $100 for the car and drove it home.
Next '57 is a windowed Sedan Delivery rumored to be only 92 made in 1957 by the Fleet & Special Order dept of Chevy. They later made the COPO Camaros. I paid $1,000 for the Delivery from a guy who traded for it. My windowed Delivery is number 57 of the 92 made. It sat in a field in southern IN next to the Ohio river. I do know it' been completely under water. I found river clay packed in the roof when I changed the headliner in 1981.
Last '57 is a 210 2-door Sedan DelRay that hasn't been on the road in 30 years. I got rear ended on my way to work in sept, 2004. The body shop that repaired my car had the '57 setting on the lot. They and the previous owner had words about the car and they sold it for what they had in it. I paid $300 for the car and the body shop delivered it for me. The only thing I didn't get with the car was an engine. It came with a Muncie 4-speed. The previous owner told me he got the car in 1975 as his first car at age 15. From what I can tell he only drove the car one year before it got parked.
Sorry for the long post. ;D

Thanks for the kind words about my '57s. ;D This is my '86 LS. It was pretty abused when I got it. I've tried to make it a nice car again. This is my g/f's '81 SC Monte. We got it from the original owner's son. I don't let her drive it anymore cause she got in trouble with it.

Long story short.............. She was driving to her second job one evening. I was already at work by this time. Her version of the story goes something like: Some kid was standing out in the middle of the street swinging something. She clanced over to keep and eye on him, and sideswipes a parked van with the Monte. She was affraid of the damage she did to the van...................... so she drives off. (WHAT???)She continued on to work and call me at work crying her head off. After I got her calm down some and find out if she's okay I tell her she has to leave work and go back home. But she's affraid the cops are now looking for her. You know, hit & run accident. I all but have to make her leave work and go back home she's so upset. So I tell my supervisor without any explaination I was leaving. I drive back home park my car start walking down the street. I wanted to see this van and the damage she did to it. It was like 5 minutes later my g/f comes down the street so I walk back to meet her. I make her walk with me down the street to locate this van and the owner. I bet we knocked on every front door but their's but someone finally tells me where the owner lives. So we go to their house. I tell the guy who owns the van if he wants to call the cops to make a report to go ahead. I also tell him if he wants the damages repaired then to contact a body shop and get estimates. But he isn't interested in any of this. He says it looks like she did more damage to the Monte then to his van. She got in to one of those aftermarket running boards that attaches at the front & back wheel wells. And she put a white streak down the side of the red van. That was it. The Monte didn't fair so well. The pass front fender took some damge at the wheel well opening. And the pass door has a small wrinkle in it. It could be fixed but the fender would be better to replace. That's why she's not allowed to drive the car anymore. Oh, and I believe the kid who started all of this, was the van owner's son.

I tried to get her to drive the '81 Monte about 2 years ago while it was still warm out. I even updated the license plate sticker so she could drive it a little. But she didn't. I guess she didn't want to take a chance getting in to trouble with it again?
