Copper lines are illeagal in NY state. They are too soft to hold the pressure consistantly.

Anyways those seats look HOT in that car!!! Awesome!

practice makes it perfect. I finally made some nice double flares on the cunifer brake lines



I just ordered one 285-30-20 falken FK-453 tire for test fitting my rear 20x10 rims. can't wait to receive the rims

I started down that road with my wife's 78 and it fell by the wayside. Not having a garage or barn has been the biggest hinderance. Now I have so much frame rot and body rot that I doubt it will be anything but scrapyard fodder.

got some more work done today. will put body back on frame to bring the whole thing to another location for work on the body. some cut and welds and getting ready for paint in few weeks.

today's update. test fitted my 20x10 wheel and oh well it looks SWEET!!!!





brought body back on frame, put the stock rear end back on and tested the wheels again - wheel rubs bad on inside of the frame. will try a wheel adapter to make it fit but maybe will also notch the frame a little. but will test with a adapter first.

unfortunately front wheels won't clear C5 calipers/brakes without spacers. but I'll get some 20mm adapters/spacers on rear and will try them on front as well.





fronts are 20x8.5 with 5.25 BS and rears are 20x10 with 5.5 BS

I hope that can be patched, 3rd gen doors are not cheap or easy to come by.

yeah I know. I'm searching here in Europe for some better doors but my friend will try to fix my doors. He already did some other body repairs on rotten cars and he said he'll give it a try..

I test fitted H&R 20mm adapters/spacers on each side today. I used some washers to simulate the front C5 brake rotor thickness. now the front wheels clear the C5 calipers







so I tried the 20mm spacer on the rear and it looked like this:



I think it looks okay and clears the frame now - but I think I want 30mm spacers now just added some washers to simulate a 30mm spacer:









Please note there's no weight/interior/doors/engine in the car so thats why the suspension is pretty high right now LOL

In my opinion, I'd stick with the 20MM. I'm not a fan of the tires close to or past the wheel lips.
But thats just me.
But it looks like you moving right along with the car, and thats the best part!

thanks man! yea i also love the tucked look. I'll see what spacers I like when the car is all together with all the weight in/on the car. I just don't know how much the wheels will tuck..

today I cut my rear fender lips a little. stock lips are about 1" wide.



I half cut them and will roll them later to clear the tires.

a friend of mine has a fender roller tool and just said I should cut a little the stock lips so it'll be easier to roll them later... I don't know, he works for body work/repair-paint shop and I think he knows best

I removed the rear springs yesterday and set the car's height to what I want the ride height later. I wanted to see if it'll fit with the trimmed fenders lips and the 30mm spacer. Looks like I just need to roll the lips now and I'll be set.

That last pic looks mean as hell! But I'd be worried about cutting the side wall. Maybe tuck it in a little bit??

the project was on hold for a little while because I've been busy with wedding organisation and stuff. my fiance and me are getting married next week (May 25th) so that's why no updates on the monte for a while. just tried to make the Monte ready for the wedding but oh well.. lot of other stuff came in and plus a long dang cold winter.
but as we speak there are some more new parts on the way to continue work on the car. already got new rear wheels tubs laying and a cammed LS3 6.2 out of a 2011 camaro

thanks man! it's a pull-out of a 2011 camaro. the camaro owner bought a new built race engine with even more cubic inches..

now, finally an update

they're working hard on buddy's garage. adding some insulation here.

















plastering..











also getting the roof done. it'll be a roof-deck/terrace..



very soon it's finally ready and my monte will move into there!
