Alright here's the thing. I park the Monte on a city street because I have nowhere else to keep it right now. Occasionally, my boyfriend will park his Jeep behind it, normally 2 1/2 - 3 feet behind. The mailbox for our apartment complex is located where we park, but it's not a no parking zone and there is no way for the mailman to deliver the mail without getting out of the truck as some of the boxes are too low to reach. He has enough room to pull the truck to the curb but not all the way up right next to the box. BUT for some reason, and today was the second time, he rams his mail truck into the Jeep and pushes it out of his way so he can get a little closer to the mailbox. Unfortunately for me, "out of the way" happens to be in the rear bumper of the Monte. My roommate witnessed it the first time it happened, but we have no solid proof. What should I do? I've considered trying to photograph or record a video of this occurring but I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do. Please help... I'm tired of my car getting hit! The rear bumper is looking pretty sad these days

only thing you can at this point is file a complaint with the post master, if he hit the jeep hard enough to move it there will be evidence of the carnage on the mail truck . jmo. mike

Mike is right, File a report! Also get the truck number so they can do a check on it for damage.

Wow that must be some mail truck to move a parked jeep far enough to hit your car...
I would say try to get proof if he comes back tommorrow....pics/videos anything then go complain....I'm sure something will be done, and if not you can sue if there are damages....
If none of that works get a pit bull and release it coincedently everytime the mail carrier comes....don't leave any tags on the dog...
I mean Uhhh Hope it all works out...lol...Good Luck and keep us updated, Joe

If you're sure it's the postal worker then by all means call the post master and file a compliant. But I would also call the cops and file a complaint that way too.
This postal person may claim you're vehicle is blocking the mail boxes? Which if they're like our carrier they will not deliver any mail until they can get to the box unobstructed. Or they may claim they're tired of having to work around your vehicles? Meaning the vehicles are in the way.
In any case I would photograph any damages for your own record. If you have pre-damage photos even the more better for the auto insurance company. It shows any damages done by the postal person.

set him or her up for failure.... they always come around the same time everday.... park the jeep out there and set up a video camera.... as soon as he does that..... proof.... then when he leaves he is comitting a felony... hit and run.... then he either gets reprimanded by the usps and most likely fired cuz you cant have a federal job with a felony behind your name....

Don't let this thing drop. The P.O. gets really anal about vehicular accidents. I used to service postal jeeps for the leasing company in St. Pete, Fl. and every time a driver had an accident the vehicle got sent over to us to see if the accident was due to mechanical failure. The letter carriers were always trying to point the blame at other than themselves

My mother carried mail on a rural route for years. She was the substitute for the regular carrier. She had to use her one vehicle. So any damages that happened, were to her car. Not a postal vehicle.
We had a '61 Pontiac Star Chief my mother drove on the mail route. I remember having to ride with her one day cause it was snowing. We were coming up a hill with a mail box about 1/2 way up the hill. We got to the mail box okay but once the mail was in the box pulling away from it wasn't so easy. The car wanted to slide in the ditch.
It just so happened two electrical workers were driving past. They got out of their truck and pushed the car away from the ditch.
Pretty nice of them to do this. ;D
