Motivation isnt lost because I dont love my Monte, its lost because my bank account, credit cards, and the good ol fashioned leather wallet are all telling me "no" The Monte for me has ALWAYS been a savior for me, keeping me out of trouble when I was younger, working on it to clear my head when I lived with my crazy ex gf, and of course just cruising around getting to enjoy the hard work! I will have to take some more pics in the next week or so. I got my donor door panels that are from a 73 Chevelle, they have the metal backs, and are already black, with the aluminum strips on both front and back. But they'll be stripped and redone

I believe that most of us have been hit in the wallet. U r not alone. I had most of my parts already and only needed a few small things and still put them on hold. I did go to the junkyard recently and found some serp brackets and some other odds and ends. It was a good time.

I know I know! lol. I was hoping to get a box sat, so I could complete a little more of the interior. I will take some tomorrow after work, whether I get my box or not, just to have something to share! I picked up u-joints and a new brake booster Sat. I'm going to order the rotors/pads tomorrow hopefully.
It'll be nice to get something done/fixed that actually NEEDS done/fixed for once. lol

If we had anything u needed, we could arrange to ship it, but I've not seen a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gen in the yards around here in years. Seems like they r only in Southern states now.

Yeah, If there is a 1st, 2nd or 3rd gen around here, it's been stripped and trashed!

Wow, hey everyone! I havent been here in a while. I've been so busy, and recently I'm in the process of buying a house, so all my Monte work has been on hold. (and its 105 out, not very nice car working weather either!)
Well today I painted the bottom of my center console with the SEM Landau Black that I got from Phil Kmett, and it came out GREAT! It goes on smooth, dries fast, and is the perfect match. I set it in the car for now, but I have to get some new clean screws to finish the top. Maybe this weekend I can give the car a much needed bath and go for a cruise. I also went ahead and installed the not so great looking but black, chevelle upper door panels, just to rid the interior of the tan. Hopefully I can get those done soon since they wont cost me much, and I can get them in the original Monte Carlo pattern, and NEW upholstry, but for now, the chevelle ones arent bad. All that is tan still is the steering wheel and column.
ill try to get pics posted sometime in the next few days.

I went back and looked through the pics again and it still looks good. Yeah, more pics would be great.
105? Sounds like good weather if humidity is low.

Yeah, I have a black horn button, I need a black wheel, and when I get the gauge bezel, or the entire dash out later (I have stuff to do along the fire wall, as well as a little problem with the dash frame) I'll mask it all off, and paint the column with the dye I got. I also have the lower air vents to replace, they are still brown, and a little beat up.
nooope, that wasnt me! lol

I really need to take the buckets out, and remove the plastic rears and bottoms, and dye them with the good stuff. Whatever the upholstery shop used, sucks. It's very flat, and is coming off fairly easy, you can see that along the side of the driver side seat. I also need to clean, paint, and grease the seat tracks too, so hopefully that can be next on the list. I'm hoping to get a few little things done before I have to get into house mode, I probably wont be able to work on the Monte for some time. Time to pinch some pennies and get that sweet California Car Cover!

Looks like you have too many Montes littering that driveway! LOL. Time to sell one! I highly recommend the CCC; I've got one on my white 73 and it's still in perfect condition after 2 1/2 years, but the car's in the garage. At that rate, it should last forever. I had one on a Ford E-100 sitting outside in wet Florida and it took 5 years to deteriorate, so that's some high quality stuff there.

Those pics look great!
I need a new cover too, I had to put a hole in it for the antenna, 10 years later it's the side of a foot ball!

Yeah I know some guys with the CCC's. They are great, kind of expensive, but worth it for the protection.

Well today I stayed for about 45min after work to clean up under the hood. It's been a while, and shame on me for letting it get so dirty. I tried first with regular degreaser, but it still had that dirty look. So then I acid washed it all, and bingo! all clean like the day I painted all under the hood. Well... almost I cant wait to get some more chrome under there, it's so boring right now!

That looks great! And there really isn't much more chrome available to add. Maybe a Master Cylinder cover, Bolt covers, Maybe some hose clamp covers....
Summit has a really cool Billet Power brake booster check valve...
